North West Net Zero

North West Net Zero Youth Network brings together young people who are passionate about climate change and what to make a difference to Net Zero goals in the North West

The North West Net Zero Youth Steering Group was established in June 2022 with support from North West Leaders to ensure young people across the region have a say in climate and Net Zero policy development.


The NWNZ Steering Group are made up of young people across the Northwest region who are passionate about climate activism. 

The NWNZ Steering Group successfully coproduced and delivered two large youth conferences, gathering over 150 young people from all corners of the North West. They voiced their opinions, participated in workshops, and shared concerns and inspiring solutions for achieving net zero and addressing climate change.


The conferences looked at Energy, Green Spaces, Green Jobs, Green Economy and Transport. The NWNZ Steering Group produced two recommendation reports for policy makers and North West leaders in the net zero journey to listen to young people’s views.

Young people explored pressing issues relating to Energy, Green Spaces, Green Jobs, Green Economy and Transport. Coming up with a range of insights and recommendations which have been presented to Northwest Leaders, policy leads and decision makers. The NW Net Zero Youth Network have presented at regional North West Net Zero Hub conferences and spoken directly to leaders about their views.
