Youthforia North West
Empowering Youth Voices Across the Region
Youthforia (YOFO) is the North West regional youth voice forum and network, co-produced with a Steering Group (SG) of young people. This dynamic initiative brings together 120 attendees from 23 local authorities, allowing young voices to influence thousands of peers in their communities.
How Youthforia Works
The Steering Group consists of 12 elected young leaders who manage various responsibilities, including planning events, liaising with guest speakers, and overseeing social media. Annually, a new Steering Group is elected, ensuring fresh perspectives and continued engagement.
Key Initiatives
- Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs): YOFO supports MYPs to meet, discuss local issues, and work on nationally selected “Make Your Mark” topics.
- Youth Leadership: Through various programmes, young people develop essential leadership skills and take active roles in decision-making processes.
- Community Engagement: By participating in YOFO, young people contribute to community projects and regional initiatives, making a tangible impact on local issues.
Achievements
Since its inception, Youthforia has seen young people dedicate over 26,000 hours to the programme. Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2020, YOFO continues to thrive as a platform for youth empowerment and activism.
